Government Affairs Committee
The Chamber's Government Affairs Division works to survey the Chamber membership and assess their needs, then communicates the key business needs to our elected officials. This committee meets on select Fridays of the month at 7:30 AM (Premier Bank). All employees of our Monticello business community are welcome to participate.
The Government Affairs Division accomplishes many objectives throughout the year by hosting Political Candidates, Business Day at the Capitol, Candidate Forums, Education of Hot Issues, and Presentations at Monthly Meetings.
MISSION: To be a non partisan proactive voice for the business and industrial community, to monitor issues, to educate and make recommendations to the Monticello Chamber of Commerce & Industry Board of Directors.
GOALS: Educate and inform the membership on priority issues. Provide information to the Board of Directors for endorsement or discussion.
Conduct round tables with local legislators, city, school district and county officials.
Provide input/feedback to the MN Chamber on specific issues important to the Business Community.
Monitor local issues and interface with city/county/school district as appropriate on those issues critical to business.
Seek member input on policies as they pertain to the functions of the committee.
New members are always welcome! If you love being a part of government issues or if you feel the need to address concerns regarding your business, this is the place to be.
