Westbound ramp from I-94 to Wright County Highway 18 in Monticello to close

St. Cloud, Minn. — The westbound ramp from Interstate 94 to Wright County Highway 18 in Monticello will close to traffic Sunday evening, May 9.

The ramp will close for approximately two weeks to allow crews to construct the new mainline concrete pavement for westbound I-94.

Traffic will follow a signed detour using the Highway 25 exit, north to Wright County Highway 75 and east to Wright County Highway 18. To view the detour map, visit the construction Web site at www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/construct.html

In mid-July, 2009, work began on this two-year $11.1 million I-94 bridge replacement and safety improvement. Interstate 94 will remain open to traffic for the duration of the project. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by early November, 2010.

During construction and road maintenance work, Mn/DOT urges drivers to:
Check www.511mn.org or call 511 for up-to-date information about traffic and road conditions.
Stay alert; expect the unexpected when driving through work zones.
Never enter a road that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
Follow posted speed limits; fines double in work zones.
Plan ahead and expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
